Becoming a Contagious Christian

You have no doubt heard about the upcoming series “Becoming a Contagious Christian.” Southside, along with Calvary and Carpenter’s Way, is using Sunday School and the morning worship service to teach members how to share their faith in a natural, conversational way.

Some of you are excited about this. You are eager to improve your personal evangelism skills and to learn some new approaches. Others of you are rather neutral on this subject, because you really don’t know what to expect. You are open to the Word of God and you’ve decided to approach this series with a teachable spirit and a willing heart. But school is, as they say, still out for you. And still others of you are dreading this. Just hearing the “E word” strikes terror in your heart! You have feelings of fear and pressure and maybe some guilt in the mix too.

Family of Faith, I want to assure you at the beginning—especially those of you who might feel a bit fearful—that I have no desire to increase the burden or to fuel any pressure that you might already be feeling. But I am confident you can grow and learn how to become more effective in this area, despite what experiences you may have had. I have high hopes for what God might do in every one of our lives as a result of focusing the next six Sundays on becoming an contagious Christian.

That’s especially true since our Sunday morning messages will sync up and synergize with the content of the Becoming a Contagious Christian training course that all of our adult and youth Sunday School classes will be going through during these same weeks. I want to encourage you to be a part of both for next six weeks. By doing so you will reap the full benefit of this campaign and come out on the other side a “contagious Christian.” Sunday begins at 9:15am. We have men’s, women’s, and couples classes for all age groups. I pray that you will be in one Sunday morning.

Blessings,

Pastor Jeff
