Salvation for the Sambla

Yesterday I received several text messages from the Southside group currently on mission in Burkina Faso. God is doing incredible miracles. Things we have prayed for specifically are coming to pass. At last count eight Sambla people (and several others from different people groups) have come to know Christ including the nephew and son of the chief. These were targets to be our “man of peace” if you are familiar with that term. We prayed specifically for them and now God has saved them! Glory to God! They have begun to help spread the word and the messages I am receving state that “the entire village is buzzing with questions” about Jesus and how to be saved. We also prayed that God would give dreams to some of the people in the village concerning salvation through Jesus Christ. Dreams have much more impact on the Burkinbe than they do on Americans. Reports of Sambla people having dreams of salvation have been reported as well. God is using us to confirm the dreams He has given the people of Badara and they are praying to receive Christ. For several months now the idea that God was going to provide a harvest of souls on this trip was being bounced around...he has done it. Praise be to God for His work in Burkina Faso!

We have been there just shy of two years and now God is using our relationship development trips to bring about the salvation of some of the Sambla people. Continue to pray for a great spiritual awakening among the Sambla. Pray for Pastor Issa as he will be given charge of the new believers. Pray for Samuel, a deacon at the church in the village that he may have wisdom as he helps Issa.

God is blessing your work Southside! 2009 looks to be an incredible year in the Lord’s work. Thank you for praying, for going and for giving to this and all mission efforts. Praise the Lord for the work done through the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention which supports mission work around the world. Praise the Lord for David and Tami Wood who knew before we did that we should work with the Sambla of Badara. Thank you Lord, that you brought them into our lives.
