Southside has an incredible heart for missions. From our neighbors on the other side of the world to the ones right next door, we love to share the Love of Christ and the message of salvation with everyone. There are many ways that you can get involved in our missions efforts. You can PRAY, you can GIVE, and you can GO. All of these are necessary for us to be successful in reaching the world for Christ. Here are a few of the missions endeavors that we are involved in.
In 2007, Southside adopted the Sambla people from Badara, Burkina Faso which is located in the West Africa region. We send a team of 3-6 persons at least three times per year. Our goal is to engage this people group until there is a self-perpetuating indigenous church among the Sambla of Badara. Please pray continually for the Sambla to give their hearts to Jesus.
Each year, we send a team to Capital City Baptist Church in Mexico City to serve in their Vacation Bible School. Under the leadership of Pastor Lynn and Sandra Sasser, Capital City Baptist Church reaches the English speaking community of Mexico City. In addition to VBS, our group also ministers in other ways while we are there. Whether it be painting an orphanage, giving free haircuts, or doing a backyard VBS, our focus is demonstrating God’s love to the people of Mexico City.
