The Next Step - Your Part
Equal Sacrifice, Not Equal Gifts
This project is far too great for just a few families to undertake. We are going to need the commitment and support of every person in order to fulfill the vision that God has given Southside. You’ve seen the history, the vision, and the opportunity for the future of Southside. Now it’s everyone’s turn to make an investment into our church and community that has the potential to change the eternal destiny of people in our city, state, nation, and world.
How to Make Your Commitment
1. Pray, Pray, Pray - Use the 21-day Prayer Guide included in The Next Step information packet with your family each day from October 3 through October 23. This will be an incredible time of spiritual growth and seeking after God’s will.
2. Determine God’s Will - Determine the commitment that God is leading you to make during The Next Step campaign, by meeting as a family (if applicable) between Sunday, October 23 and Saturday, October 29. Use the Family Conference Guide located at the end of the 21-day Prayer Guide.
3. Fill Out Your Commitment Card - Use the Commitment Card included in your information packet to write down the amount of your commitment that you will be able to give as your initial cash gift offering. Then using the giving chart on your commitment card, write down the amount you commit in faith to give during the next 24 months, November, 2011 through October, 2013. Also list any gift of asset(s) that you are being led to give.
4. Commitment Sunday - October 30 - As an act of worship, bring your commitment card on Commitment Sunday. If you cannot attend that day, please mail or bring your commitment card to the church office by Thursday, November 3 so that it can be included. If you are giving a gift of service through your company, please contact us as soon as possible and prior to Thursday, November 3 so we can add your “gift-in-kind” to the total gifts made during Commitment Sunday.
Cards and envelopes will also be available in the vestibule or in the Church Office.
